INGREDIENTS

  • 200 g flours
  • 120 g brown sugar
  • 120 g butter
  • 1 tsp. Baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp. Vanilla powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 apples
  • 1.5 tsp. cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Peel and chop the apples into small cubes, about 1 cm in size.
  2. Place the apples in a bowl and add 40g of brown sugar and cinnamon. Gently mix until the apples are coated in the sugar and cinnamon. Set this mixture aside.
  3. Melt the butter and mix it with 80g of sugar until it is light and creamy.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, and vanilla).
  5. In another separate bowl, lightly whisk the eggs.
  6. Add the eggs to the butter and sugar mixture and mix well. Then, add half of the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Add the remaining dry ingredients and mix until the batter is smooth.
  7. Preheat the oven to 180 C.
  8. Pour the batter into a cake pan.
  9. Top the batter with the apples and gently press them into the batter (or you can mix the apples into the batter if you prefer).
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Serve the cake warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
